German Roaches

Now is the time of year to be getting your home or business ready for the "winter" pests.  Lets look at the 2 major pests of the winter and why now is the time to do something about them.

House Mouse

Public Enemy Number 2: The common house mouse.  This little rodent is the one that is most likely to invade your home or business through any hole that is the size of dime or larger.  This pest can be found anywhere throughout your home or business, even the attic or walls.  They can cause a great amount of damage where ever they are found.  Thier teeth are constantly growing, just like a beavers teeth, and need to gnaw of anything hard to keep them cut short.  Some of the things that they will gnaw on: wood, PVC pipe, electrical wiring, anything inside your vehicles engine (they will also use your warm engine at night as a nesting site).  Mice are usually nocturnal (active at night), they are normally very curious, and will come out during the day if the nest is disturbed or there is an over population in there area. 

What makes this pest public enemy number two is that the are the second most cause of asthma allergens in children.  But if thats not enough to convience you of their dangers here is some other problems associated with mice.  First, they can bring fleas into your home, and theses fleas can spread the plague.  They also are associated with the Hantavirus.  they can also damage your home or business from a simple hole in the wall to an electrical fire that could possible destroy your home or business.   They also can start reproducing at the age of 1 month, have 5-6 babies each litter and can have up to 8 litters per year, and they will live for 15-18 months.  As you can see a small problem now can turn into a major catastrophic issue within a few months.
